Slott i Signy-l'Abbaye

Welcome to Clavy-Warby chateau, 15 km to the west of Charleville-Mézières, the administrative centre of the Ardennes. Part of a Chateau in the French Ardennes. It is surrounded by 1000m2 of grounds, a large garden and a grassy 750m2 courtyard. The habitable part is over 250m2. The foundations go back to the 12th century. The tower and the west wall (the only wall to have loopholes) are the oldest parts (13th and 14th century). The date 1654 is carved in the stone above the porch. Its an ideal spot in which to relax and explore the Ardennes department(Charleville-Mézières, the Meuse valley, the Rimbaud-Verlaine route, La Thierarche fortified churches, Sedan chateau, the Ardennes forest...) as well as Reims and its vineyards. There is a tennis court in the village, an 18-hole golf course 8 km away, and swimming in Lac des Vieilles Forges 16 km away. The accommodation boasts quality furnishings and decor: period furniture, engravings, paintings, collections. The park has been prettily landscaped and is well-maintained; it is completely enclosed by a hedge. A large flower garden extends round the outbuildings.
