This romantic and comfortable holiday house is situated at the edge of a characteristic French village less than an eight-hour drive from Utrecht. This fully renovated former farmhouse is located in a tranquil rural area, and you have plenty of space and privacy here as well as easy access to important facilities. The house radiates a warm rural ambience, and the fabulous setting in its own garden park with old trees and your own private heated swimming pool makes it an ideal holiday home for one or two families. On the ground floor you will find two comfortable bedrooms with a shared bathroom and upstairs there are two spacious bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom. The house is very well insulated, so it's cool in summer and warm in the colder months. Shops, restaurants, a bar, a free tennis court, and hiking trails are all within walking distance. You will find fishing and archery less than three kilometres away. The many other nice daytrips for you and your children, such as visiting historic castles and the charming village festivals in summer, will give you that ultimate holiday feeling. The house was fully renovated in 2015.

There are many places to visit in the area. The Gîte de la Fermette is situated on the edge of the picturesque and interesting small town of Magnac Laval. The historic town of Le Dorat is located just 7 kms west of Magnac Laval and is steeped in history, clear influences from the Roman period can be found. For more information about Le Dorat you can click here. Bellac is the main town in the area, located a short drive south of Magnac Laval. It is the second most important town of the Haute Vienne after Limoges. Limoges is the principle city of the Haute Vienne and the province of The Limousin. Limoges is only a forty-five minute drive from Magnac Laval and a definite “must go to”. In Les Herolles a nearby village, every 29th of the month, is the famous market. This is the largest outdoor market in France. However, when the 29th falls on a Sunday or public holiday, the market will be moved to the next day. Other ‘must go to’s‘ are Chateauponsac , Oradour s-Glane, Mortremart and nearby Montrol Senard, Montmorrillon, La Souterraine and St Benoît du Sault. Golf, tennis, archery (in French, archery is named Tir à l’arc) and fishing are among the sports available in the surrounding area. A golf course is located in Mortemart only 30 mins drive. You can play tennis for free in Magnac Laval, a modern tennis court is about one and a half kilometer from the Gîte de la Fermette At Les Pouyades, the local holiday park, where fishing is possible with half, whole day ticket or a week tickets are available. The French are fond of “cozy celebratings” so, with the friendly locals, you can celebrate summer festivals, great food in the open air and visit small fairground attractions. These festivals and events are also listed in the calendar. Usually, at the end of a celebration, there is a spectacular fireworks show. The castle lovers can indulge themselves in the Limousin.
