Location & Directions
There are two ways to reach the island of Crete:
BY PLANE: There are two international airports on the island: in Chania and in Heraklion.
BY BOAT: From Piraeus port, daily departures to Souda port of Chania, or to the port of Heraklion.
DISTANCES
Chania Airport: 49 km (45 min. drive).
Souda Port of Chania: 34.5 km (20 min. drive).
Heraklion Port or Airport: 105km (80 min. drive).
From Chania airport or Souda port: Follow the signs to the highway in the direction of Rethymnon. Take the highway. Upon reaching Georgioupolis decrease your speed. After 600m you will see a sign to Kournas Lake, follow the signs to Kournas Lake. Drive for another 3,5km, when you reach the crossroad who leads to the Lake at your right hand you will see the Tavern Souhlis. There turn left and after 30m Perla Villas are on your right.
From the airport or harbour of Heraklion: Follow the signs to the highway in the direction of Rethymno – Chania. Take the highway. Pass all exits to Rethymno and continue, headed in the direction Chania. After the exits to Kavros, decrease your speed. 2km further up you will reach a junction with sign to Kournas Lake. Carefully turn left there, following the sign and the road to Kournas Lake. Drive for another 3,5km, when you reach the crossroad who leads to the Lake at your right hand you will see the Tavern Souhlis. There turn left and after 30m Perla Villas are on your right.
